Shebrew Poll: whats on your ipod?
By ShebrewAndrew Bock:
I have a lot of different types of music on my iPod. Different situations call for different types of music. While I’m at the gym, kicking back, or getting to turn the lights down low, music makes the most of every moment. My tastes range from certain Classic Rock to Trip-Hop and other electronic music to Punk. To give you a better idea let’s take a look at some situations where I might play a certain band or type of music.
For my workouts:
The Misfits: - Nothing gets me revved up more than listening to doo-wop influenced old school pop-punk while using the elliptical.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Art-Rock with delightful screams and guitar loops.
DJ Frankie Bones: - Mid 90’s Tech-House great.
Cut Chemist: “The Audience is Listening” was my favorite album of 2006, so I’m listing him, but all scratch albums from turntablists keeps me pumped up for hours.
For down time:
Thievery Corporation: Bossa-Lounge kings who use reggae and other downtempo forms of music to create their sound.
DJ Spooky: Abstract DJ who melds several types of music into one cohesive mix
Wu-Tang: Putting hip-hop on the map since ‘93
MC Paul Barman: America’s favorite Jewish rapper.
Pizzicato Five: My most favorite band in the world. J-Pop extraordinaire! Sadly they broke up in 2001.
The Cardigans: Nina Persson has the best voice in the world.
