Awesome Autumn
By Sara-Rivka DavidsonLesly Hershman:
I live in Atlanta, Georgia where summers are sweltering. Some days, it’s almost too hot to go outside and sit by the pool to cool off. Once fall moves in (which it still hasn’t really done) my favorite activity is just sitting outside. It’s hard to have bright, sunny days that are just too hot be outside in. Fall takes the edge off the heat enough to make it pleasant. I like to sit outside with my fiancé, watch the sun set, and talk about our day. It’s so relaxing and gets me out of the house and away from work.

Growing up in Manhattan, I didn’t see “the great outdoors,” very much. So, autumn means something different to me. I didn’t go apple picking, take drives down country roads to view beautiful foliage, play baseball, etc. But, I do have some things that that I like to do during this lovely season:
Buy fresh apples at the farmer’s market: I love apples. All varieties, sizes, and taste There is something quite beautiful and delicious about eating a fresh, locally grown apple, that is just coming into season.
Bubble baths- enough said
Street fairs: As a child, I have always loves walking through street fairs. Buying cheap jewelry, eating fried food, hearing music, and bumping into friends. Recently I moved to Brooklyn, and on my first weekend here I attended the 33rd Annual Atlantic Antic fair. It was the mother of all street fairs, and a really great way to get introduced to my new neighborhood. I think I will make a tradition to attend every year.
