The Big Date list

By Shebrew

Your Big Date can be your first or your 101st. You can be going dancing, show-shoeing or just taking a walk. Whatever your plan is, Shebrew gives you a checklist of all the things we’ve gotta do to feel our best!

Your Big Date checklist:

• Take a nice relaxing shower. After the shower, while your skin is still wet, put on some baby oil and then pat dry with a towel. Your skin will glowing and baby-soft.

• Shave, depilate, wax or whatever it is that you do. My classic amnesia is to shave one armpit and not the other. Mmm, awkward.

• Brush you teeth and floss.

• Put on some getting-ready music and take your time.

• Great date outfits are simple, with jewelry that makes a statement.

• Don’t experiment with your hair – you want it to be soft and touchable, so make sure not to skip the anti-frizz serum or smoothing lotion.

• Wash your hands before doing your make-up: you don’t want to get the hair goo all over your face.

• Keep the make-up simple. You want to go for fresh-faced, i-am-naturally-this-stunning look. Curl your lashes, put on some highlighter, your favorite mascara and peach-colored blush.

• To make your lips soft, kissable and overall gorgeous, gently exfoliate with a soft toothbrush, dab on some clear lipbalm, and follow with a touch of pink lip gloss.

• Smile and don’t be late! ;)

Even though I’m not a rabbi, as a single woman who converted to Judaism as an adult and who regularly attends a reform temple–dating has been challenging. All I can say is that somewhere there is a man who will be inspired, not intimidated, by your committment to the Jewish People.
