Success! A Shebrew Shares her Secrets

By Shebrew

Bryce Gruber is an all-around fabulous woman. After achieving success in the corporate world, she opened up two designer boutiques. Now living in New York, she shares the secrets to her professional success with Shebrew.

Shebrew: Tell us little bit about your two boutiques.

Bryce: I opened (and then sold) two boutiques that sold high end women’s accessorries, and eventually high end designer jeans & shirts. The vast majority of the business was based online, as I was offering big city designers for a fraction of the price. People with style in less populated areas were eating it up!

Shebrew: When and how did you decide to start your businesses?

I decided to open my business after leaving the corporate world about 3 years ago. I needed to branch out, tap into my creativity, and prove to myself that I could open my own successful business.

Shebrew: What challenges did you face in the beginning

In the beginning I really had to learn e-commerce by myself, I had never been down that road before… and I certainly had no training! It took me a few months of trial and error to learn the best methods of internet advertising on a budget, and most importantly- finding the right audience!

What was the most rewarding part of starting your own business
?

Well, I hate to say it, but the money was certainly number 1! Making my own hours was surely a close second!

What advice do you have to give young women hoping to launch their own ventures?

I would say that you really have to have a strong sense of dedication, and to a certain extent, something in you really has to feel that you NEED to be doing it. People are really amazing, and can accomplish almost anything when they think it’s a necessity.
